Ben Stucke

Sports Engineer

Ben joined Sportworks Design in 2019 after graduating from the University of Cincinnati. Being part of this team, he works on many sports projects, including designs for high schools, collegiate, and professional organizations. As a former athlete, Ben was eager for the opportunity to turn his love for sports into a career involving civil engineering. With the use of computer software, in particular AutoCAD, he focuses on the utility and grading design of the project. Ben looks forward to working with other sports-minded engineers and feels privileged to work with and under the mentorship of fellow Sportworks members.

  1. What excites you about working on sport facility projects?
I have always had a passion for sports, growing up that occupied most of my time.  Even now I still play as much as I can.  To be able to incorporate work into my hobbies is very cool.  This also gives me a unique look into the industry that I thoroughly enjoy.
  2. What was your first job?
I worked at a driving range when I was 13.  I loved it because when we weren’t very busy, I was allowed to hit as many balls as I wanted.
  3. If you could pick up a new skill in an instant what would it be?
I would like to be able to play the guitar.  I want to learn to play another instrument and I think the guitar would be awesome.
  4. If you could be any animal, which would you be?
Any bird, I just want to be able to fly.
