Flyght Academy

Trotwood, OH

The Kleingers Group provided surveying, civil engineering, landscape architecture, and traffic engineering services for the 48,000-square-foot enclosed structure in Trotwood, Ohio. The 250’ x 200’ air-supported structure houses four basketball courts, six volleyball courts, a weight room, a lounge, and a 200’ x 70’ synthetic turf training field. Site design included emergency vehicle circulation, 125 parking spaces, a stormwater management basin, water and sanitary services, and close coordination with the City and County on an existing 30-inch concrete sewer pipe immediately adjacent to the building footprint. The Flyght Academy’s core values of Education + Sports + Community support its mission to “…provide resources that educate, expose, and empower youth and families for generational growth”. A driving force behind the Flyght Academy is Trotwood native and former professional basketball player Chris Wright.
